چکیده

This work tackles a relatively new issue in power system operation, known as the Environmental/Economic Dispatch problem. For this purpose, combination of two powerful heuristic algorithms, namely, Exchange Market Algorithm (EMA) and Adaptive Inertia Weight Particle Swarm Optimization (AIWPSO), was employed. Additionally, Multiple Constraint Ranking (MCR) technique used to address constraints such prohibited operating zones ramp rate limits. Furthermore, mutation operator improve performance global search mechanism. The main purpose combining these algorithms utilizing EMA’s high explore optimum local exploitation ability AIWPSO. algorithm evaluated on six standard benchmark functions scrutinized several different test systems, including 6–40 units. By using proposed method, minimum values reduction annual costs, with equal or less emissions, compared other methods, were USD 17,520, 8760 10,801,080, respectively, for 6-unit, 10-unit, 40-unit systems (assuming same load profile throughout year). Similarly, 14-unit 1750, 2150, 2650 (MW) demands, 229,879, 148,438, 4483, respectively.

A Constraint-Handling Genetic Algorithm to Power Economic Dispatch

This paper presents a new constraint-handling genetic approach for solving the economic dispatch problem in electric power systems. A real code genetic algorithm is implemented to minimize the active power generation cost while satisfying power balance (energy conservation) and generation limit constraints simultaneously during the optimization process. This is achieved by introducing a novel s...

Constraint-Handling using an Evolutionary Multiobjective Optimization Technique

In this paper, we introduce the concept of non-dominance (commonly used in multiobjective optimization) as a way to incorporate constraints into the tness function of a genetic algorithm. Each individual is assigned a rank based on its degree of dominance over the rest of the population. Feasible individuals are always ranked higher than infeasible ones, and the degree of constraint violation d...

An Auction Based Dispatch Algorithm for Deregulated Power Systems using Differential Evolution Technique

In this paper, a new approach to auction based dispatch algorithm in a deregulated power system using differential evolution technique is presented. In a deregulated power system, the production cost is replaced by seller’s bidden cost function including not only the production cost, but also the market strategy, which may become concave, whereas the conventional economic dispatch (ED) algorith...

A geometry constraint handling technique for stiffener layout optimization problem

Beam stiffeners have frequently been used for raising natural frequencies of base structures. In stiffener layout optimization problems, most of the previous researches considering the position and/or the length of the stiffener as design variables dealt with structures having just simple convex shapes such as a square or rectangle. The reason was because concave shape structures have difficult...
